Operating from its base in Tampa, Florida, Hope Children’s Home cares for abused and orphaned children at its residential and learning facilities in Florida, New Mexico, and Honduras. Hope Children’s Home has nurtured more than 5,000 children since its founding in 1968.
Because of its commitment to transparency, the organization has earned a four-star rating, the highest offered rating on the nonprofit reputation site Charity Navigator. The nonprofit serves children who experience unsafe or abusive situations at home. Hope Children’s Home in Tampa houses approximately 80 children from the ages of infant to 18-years old.
To keep families together, housing sibling groups is prioritized. The children are supervised and cared for by trained and qualified house parents who are available 24 hours a day. All school-aged children residing on Hope’s campus attend the on-site Hope Christian School, a faith-based private institution that offers pre-K to 12th grade.
The organization recently opened a similar housing facility in Clovis, New Mexico. Currently in its first phase, the Clovis campus houses 6 youth.
In addition to private donations, the organization funds its program with proceeds from its two thrift stores located in Tampa and Clearwater, Florida. Anyone interested in donating appliances, clothing, or electronics to these thrift stores can find more information at Hope's website: www.hopechildrenshome.org.
